MailUp sponsors Magento Hackathon in San Francisco

Attention: Magento Hackers Unite!

MailUp is proud to co-sponsor the Magento Hackathon in San Francisco!

MailUp has partnered with AOE media and Infield Design to host the best minds in the Magento development community here in San Francisco in early April: the perfect warm-up before the Magento Imagine eCommerce conference in Las Vegas, which happens the following week.

Magento developers from all over the globe will be hacking away and creating new applications. The event starts April 5th here in downtown San Francisco at Infield Design and lasts until Sunday April 7.

Fabrizio Branca

Hosting the event is Fabrizio Branca (Twitter: @fbrnc). Fabrizio is a Magento developer at AOE media. He, his wife Janine and their daughter Fiona live in San Francisco, California. On his website, he blogs about Magento, Varnish, Selenium and TYPO3. There you’ll also find his free Magento modules like Aoe_Profiler, Aoe_Scheduler, Aoe_TemplateHints or the Magento-Varnish-Integration Aoe_Static.

Email marketing goes hand in hand with running a successful ecommerce store, and that’s why MailUp has been investing into creating tools such as its Magento Extension. We are currently working on a new version of the extension, and look forward to getting feedback from the experts during this event!

The new version will be out before the hackathon and will include:

  • Newsletter sign-up checkbox built into the Magento checkout
  • Support for MailUp Webhooks
  • Performance improvements
Magento Ecommerce

And we have many more features in the pipeline for future versions, including support for multi-list preferences in Magento (e.g. daily specials vs. weekly best sellers).

As head of products at MailUp, I spend my days (and nights) thinking of new tools that can help marketers get the job done more effectively. In MailUp 9, for instance, we just introduced a new way for our users to collaborate on email campaigns. With, we took our drag-n-drop email editor and turned into a stand-alone, embeddable plugin. The objective is to create tangible value, gather feedback, and push real product innovation based on it.
