Mobile Email Preview in BEE and Other New Improvements

11 August 2014

Earlier this year we launched BEE – MailUp’s drag & drop, responsive email editor – and this week we’re introducing a great new feature and a number of new improvements to the BEE editor in version 0.9.2 (currently in BETA). This new version of the BEE editor has already been automatically applied to your MailUp admin console and new free trials, so no action on your part is required, but do let us know your feedback on BEE!

Desktop and Mobile Email Previews in BEE

In addition to the Email Analysis tool, you are now able to generate an email preview (both desktop and smartphone) of your working email directly inside the BEE editor. This feature allows you to quickly check how your working email looks in two of the most widely used screen width sizes, that of desktop and of smartphones. Once you see how your email looks, you can close the message preview tab (image below) and make any changes to your email, such as adding more padding to each content block. Keep in mind that the BEE editor allows you to do all of this without having to worry about the HTML or CSS, and that your emails are already optimized for mobile viewing, as you can see below:

Additional Improvements

Focusing on mobile, we have further optimized the CSS code of how emails render in Android and Windows Phone 8 smartphones and have reduced the total email message size of emails created with BEE (and therefore reducing the download size of emails for mobile email inboxes).
