MailUp Adopts Vade Retro’s Predictive Anti-Abuse Engine

05 October 2015

We’ve added Vade Retro’s predictive anti-abuse engine to our anti-abuse systems at MailUp to better fight email spam!

One of the most challenging things we have to deal with at our deliverability department is abuse prevention, especially when it comes to handling irresponsible or even malicious use of our email infrastructure from both customers and free trial users.

With more than 8.000 customers worldwide we have to keep up with the newest technologies to keep our abuse programs scalable and effective, reducing the manual intervention of the compliance team at the minimum.

For the above reasons, we’re happy to announce that we’ve partnered with Vade Retro Technologyhttps://www.vade-retro.com/en/ – to leverage their outbound filtering solution, designed for ESP and senders, and their anti-phishing system. Vade Retro’s heuristic spam filter works perfectly with our abuse prevention systems analyzing the contents of all our outbound emails without delaying our customers’ campaigns.

In addition, their ISIT PHISHING.org technology automatically detects malicious links with a very high confidence rate and, for this reason, we added it as a feature to improve even further our phishing detection predictive model.

I have been working in the email marketing industry for over 10 years. I love numbers, figuring out what they tell us and – even more – what they don't. This led me towards a natural development in the field of Email Deliverability, an area with few certainties but where one thing is sure: the email will reach its destination if the recipient wants to receive it and finds it relevant. My ambition is to ensure that there are more and more recipients who want to receive emails sent by MailUp customers and that these recipients get them in their inbox.
